In the details

  • 7-Speed Internal Gear Set

This bike is internally geared, which means you have the benefit of multiple gears without a cumbersome derailleur. For city riding, internal gears have many advantages. They are extremely reliable, require very little maintenance, you can shift without pedaling, and they're very easy to use.
  • Alloy Fender Set

    Reduced weight and rust resistant.
  • Paint

We apply a second layer of protective clear coat to the paint. It’s more work for us but it makes the paint stronger and more resilient for you. Two coats are better than one.
  • Spokes

We use 13 Gauge stainless steel spokes on the rear wheel because they are thicker and stronger than the standard 14 Gauge. Stronger spokes make stronger wheels, which is great when carrying extra weight like groceries or toddlers over bumpy city streets.
  • Wrapped Grips

Elegant wrapped vegan leather grips with polished alloy caps. It’s the details that count.

A little disappointed (but Linus customer service helped a lot)

So this is my second Linus bicycle, I had purchased a roadster 8 speed about six years ago. That bike I recall had a little manufacturing defect, but the dealer who assembled it worked with Linus and they quickly got a replacement part. So all was well. This time I purchased the mixte 7 instead of the 3 speed because I loved the matte blue paint. So the first bike that was sent to my local bike shop had a bunch of very deep scratches in the finish. They did fairly quickly send a new replacement bike (thank you Linus), which I have now, but I’m finding that the new bike has some very light scratches in the clear coat on the side of the top bars (where clearly someone leaned the bike against something). They are not significant enough for me to return the bike, because that’s a hassle and there’s more delay, but it's a little annoying, especially where the marketing makes a point to brag about how perfect the paint is. So 100% of the time I’ve gotten a bike from Linus, which is three bikes now, there’s been a quality control problem. Just make sure you go over your bike really closely when you get it.

Update 2/15/24. So after my closer inspection the brakes on my bike hadn't been assembled correctly, and the head tube squeaked. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling. But Linus offered me to bring it to them in Venice to correct (I'm in SoCal) or to a closer bike shop. I had a local reputable bike shop in Laguna Niguel (Nick at Jax) look it over and they also noticed the wheels weren't quite true and the internal shifting hub needed a little adjustment. After working on it, they found the “headset upper bearing pressing ring“ (a little part of the headset) was missing (!), and so the headset cover didn’t work properly. Basically the bike shop in Dana Point that assembled it (cyclogical) did a truly pathetic job. But Linus to their credit was extremely responsive and covered the expense of getting the problems corrected. So the Linus bike is solid now and looks fantastic (I would deduct maybe 1/2 star for minor paint imperfections), but Linus customer service is 10 stars. Caveat emptor; if you're going to have a bike shop put it together, make sure you trust the bike shop, and then check the bike carefully. I would buy from Linus again.

    Mixer 7i - it’s amazing

I’ve been riding this bike roughly 20km everyday since I’ve got it & I can’t say a bad thing about it. It drives beautifully, it’s well built/designed, and it’s well worth it for the quality. I would highly recommend this bike and other Linus products to anyone who is looking for the perfect commute.
